My most left wing opinion is that we should implement UBI as fast as possible, and that I consider someone being able to sit in a chair and watch Simpsons reruns for the rest of their life a positive if it means someone else can choose to make art instead of cleaning toilets.
@0xabad1dea I do it quite a lot for the purposes of sending links to specific chunks of code to people. Stuff like “oh, that’s implemented here”.
@0xabad1dea I think this is one of those things where different classes of user want polar opposites. My suggestion would be that if you’re a contributor to repo, readme down bottom, you’re probably here for code. If you’re not, up top, you probably want some context.
My favourite event is definitely the one where they have to position a cardboard cutout of some dancers next to the track so that it’s as close as possible to the tram without hitting it. 500 points available, but if they touch it or are too far away they get nothing.

I've noticed that there havent been many (any?) Proud Boy, Patriot Front, or Oath Keeper demonstrations recently.
I've also noticed that ICE is using common Patriot Front tactics - like arriving in Penske Moving Trucks and a lack of professionalism in regards to pushing, provoking, and handling bystanders.
I think its obvious that the Trump regime has brought all of his brown shirts in under the fold and are providing them with training, weapons, resources, and pay.

Today’s irritating problem, my coffee grinder is making (unhealthy, mechanical) grinding noises when it runs. It’s almost impossible to usefully Google for grinding noises from a coffee grinder though.
@dave this what infuriates me so much. On one side there’s parties which have definite flaws, but appear to at least mean well, while on the other you have people who barely consider their opponents to be human and will happily send people to their deaths if it means making a bit more money.

@tante this is why the bridge of the Enterprise has lots of terminals that can be controlled silently. Sometimes voice is the right interface, sometimes it’s a keyboard. Occasionally it’s gestures.

@LewisWorkshop @idnorton I think the bike hire point is more relevant than busses that can carry bikes. Ubiquitous bike/scooter rental has transformed my city’s bus network for me because they make the perfect last mile hop from the nearest bus stop to my actual destination, and I’m not stuck with a bike to worry about when I make it to the pub.
