@benc regrettably necessary in a world where car park signs are getting rogue QR codes to payment pages which just funnel cash into someone’s bank account. My brother saw a 3D printed QR code on one a while back to try and prevent stickering over it. Can’t help thinking maybe it’s time to give up on QR codes in remote car parks and return to physical machines.

@benc although there’s a UK standard for parking payments being developed which may help - a somewhat distributed system where any payment app (or other service like a phone number) can be used to pay for any car park. That might then result in people already having something trusted they can use.
