One thing I am feeling inspired to do is drop into my local hackspace(ish) place and say hello. I’ve been meaning to for years and never quite got round to it, cat sitting for a friend who lives literally just the other side of the fence from the industrial park it’s in so I’ll take the opportunity and hope the vibes aren’t quite as Men’s Shed as the website gives the impression of.

I have no idea why there are so many Men’s Sheds around here, and so few actually inclusive spaces. I don’t fully begrudge the retirees wanting somewhere to get together but I do know that sort of environment is the antithesis of what excites me about the maker scene.
