How odd.. just noticed when logging into the twitch web, someone has gifted me a subscription to a channel I was watching 10 days ago... neither know the person, nor the channel (have watched a few times)... odd someone would spend ÂŁ5?
Said twitch channel, who is usually live 4 or 5 nights a week... hasn't been since literally there big push (birthday celebrations) for subs... when I was gifted one. So 15 days into sub, streamer still not live.
Was curious. Many mediums they post, nothing. Join thier discords, oh, they've just been at a festival and haven't been doing anything since.
FFS. Honestly? My first experience of subscriptions for this sort of thing, and 0/10. It's a subscription, not a donation? ergh.
@an0key it's because someone bought a number of gift subscriptions which are randomly allocated to people watching the stream. It's one way of donating to a Twitch streamer.
@russss an odd way to promote your channel though...? go big over birthday for lots of subs and then go dark for 2 weeks...?
@russss I get that.... I don't get the option of being paid for a month, and delivering half though.
anyhow, new to how this streaming stuff works :)
