Anthropic is bragging about rolling their own from-scratch in-house version control system because git couldn't keep up with their 30,000 commits per day, and it doesn't seem to occur to them for a nanosecond that they are not fixing the actual problem in their engineering practices but making it exponentially worse
the US military learned the hard way that if you think that a commercial off the shelf solution (COTS) didn't solve your problem, it usually meant that you hadn't understood the problem well enough, not that you needed an expensive custom solution made just for you.
