@kestral @andypiper @HughEvansDev @jarkman but it is stereo, is CD quality digital audio....
@jarkman @andypiper @HughEvansDev @emuboy85 yes but for a speaker on each side of the badge you’d ideally want two hexpansions. Could one alone be stereo, and two together auto configure to L and R channels?
@kestral @jarkman @andypiper @HughEvansDev doesn't work like that I2S is pretty demanding, I don't think the poor esp32 would be able to manage that, BadgeRadio barely manages to play music...
@HughEvansDev @andypiper @emuboy85 @jarkman wonder if the hexpansion could do the processing, hmmm *ruminates*
@kestral @HughEvansDev @andypiper @emuboy85 you can put as many computers as you like on the hexpansion, maybe just send it midi?
@JuliaRez @kestral @HughEvansDev @andypiper @emuboy85 Yes! Or maybe something like https://hackaday.com/2026/04/23/esp32synth-an-audio-synthesis-library-for-the-esp32/
@HughEvansDev @emuboy85 @JuliaRez @andypiper @jarkman many many many ideas here, it’ll be exciting to see what they all come to. Personally still working on a massively interconnected orchestra of badges.
@kestral @HughEvansDev @emuboy85 @JuliaRez @andypiper Me too. So many good ideas.
I'm still working on a modular synth in hexpansion form, hopefully there'll be a bunch of modules by 2028.
