There seems to be a significant overlap - I would guess statistically significant - between being good at sports and not being a terrifically interesting person
@anon_opin true of being at the top of any field which requires you to spend basically every waking hour working on or thinking about it to make any money.

@anon_opin Or maybe you're just not interested in sports? It would seem, at a minimum, the vocal minority are, so the rest of us just need to either put up with it or try to start an anti-sports movement, and that seems too much like hard work to me.
@anon_opin I’d wager most professional sports people have done nothing but their choice of sport since the age of seven or eight.
