@amyhoy Netscape Navigator 3 only had URL input. I think it wasn't until 4 that you could get two inputs⁇

@amyhoy i haven’t tried in a while but at least a few years ago, Firefox still let you separate them out if you wanted.

I’m not sure what it says about me that I wanted, so I did run it this way recently.

@amyhoy fucking amateurs. If you clicked enough ad banners you could have more search inputs than space for the page to render in.

@drbrain you don't have to be as old as us to remember 2 fields

search wasn't integrated into browser bars until much later iirc. and we all preferred different search engines! i myself used metacrawler mostly

but it was much better to have it be 2 than 1, on a bunch of levels!
