Hey #UKpol folks, we've been putting together some demo constituency dashboards with a variety of data that we've collated https://open-innovations.github.io/constituency-api-test/ Any thoughts? Does it seem reasonably clear?
I wrote about this when it first came out with some back of the envelope calculations and a reflection on how I probably wouldn’t be here if this were the pathway when I first came here. This is much better written. The whole policy is just unnecessarily horrible. #ukpol #immigration https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/jun/02/british-citizenship-five-year-labour-immigration
https://www.transsolidarityalliance.com/about-7 Mass lobby of Parliament on the EHRC guidance is being organised for June 25. Not read all the details yet but seems worthwhile to do. #trans #ukpol
Cynically, Starbucks is more than profitable enough to pay £40m of royalties to its US parent company, thereby incuring a loss of £35m.
Global revenue for 2024 was $36billion.
As a Green Party district councillor it makes my blood boil.

These dickheads have tied themselves in fucking knots over a US far right talking point that happens to appeal to some trans-hating centrist pricks.

Never get tired of this list from Jeremy Clarkson and the grand tour
Now the #BBC are running the story (again) that the #UK want to steal the water in #Scotland (when we're in the middle of train shortage but still have 90% of the fresh water #GIRUY ) and why don't we have water meters (that's called devolution you idiots) but steal our wind power and don't say thanks (or pay the proper price)

The UK is in talks with other countries to set up overseas “return hubs” for asylum seekers who have exhausted the legal process, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has said on his first official visit to Albania. Green Party co-leader Carla Denyer MP told the Huffington Post:
Mere months after rightly denouncing the last government’s failed Rwanda scheme as a gimmick and a waste of taxpayer money, Starmer is now looking for his own knock off version. Instead of wasting more taxpayer money trying to look tough, it’s time Starmer got a grip of the real driving force behind smuggling gangs: the fact that for most people who might need and be eligible to seek asylum in the UK, there is simply no safe and managed way to do so.
Saw Grace Petrie this evening and she and the band were on fine form, even if the content was a bit grim in places (thanks world politics).
There's tickets left at a few of her gigs coming up touring to: Swansea, Oxford, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Gateshead, Leeds, Norwich, Birmingham (twice), Liverpool, Manchester, March, Tolpuddle, Hatfield, Sidmouth, and Nottingham.
If you like interesting folky queer socialist protest music (and other stuff) go along :)
The UK Data Bill has gone back to Parliament over an amendment for public bodies to record people's “sex at birth”.
This would forcibly out trans people, exposing them to discrimination in data-driven decisions.
It's data protection law without the protection.

Today's letter… Buckle up, it’s a long one.
To: Vicky Foxcroft, #Labour MP for Lewisham North
Subject: The target on my back
I moved to the UK in 2010, got my ILR in 2015, and became a citizen in 2018. As a Commonwealth citizen, UK citizenship didn't actually gain me any advantages I didn't already have – but I saw which way the winds were blowing. The UK government has long hated immigrants like me.
Starmer has gone full xenophobe, migrants are stealing the natives' jobs, putting pressure on the health service and the economy, in short are the source of all evil.
I guess in a country that voted for brexit, it is only to be expected.
The UK Data Use and Access Bill is back in Parliament tomorrow. This rights-busting legislation will:
🔴 Reduce transparency over harmful AI.
🔴 Fail to address shortcomings with the data watchdog.
🔴 Lower accountability for law enforcement.
🔴 Expand powers without Parliamentary oversight.

Outlook not so good 🎱
Police tech doesn’t predict crime. It predicts policing.
Based on biased data, it brings more of the same – racist policing and poverty punishment.
Read our latest blog on why crime 'predicting' police tech must be BANNED ⬇️

Well, politics remains thoroughly depressing.
Gin remains delicious, though.
Hope our local green wins. Did our part.
People going "Oh no, Reform are doing better than Labour" just get in the sea.
Labour's atrocities are okay for you but you're worried Reform might do something you actually object to.
I want the transphobic xenophobic racist ableist eugenicist Labour Party to collapse. I want them to get fewer votes than the Monster Raving Loony Party. I want every Labour MP shitting their pants that they're going to end up having to do three jobs or beg with the DWP not to starve. I want them so terrified that they throw Starmer to the wolves and remember who the fuck they're supposed to be for a few years, until the centrists arise, start triangulating towards the far right and the whole cycle begins again...
Breathe, Hope, breathe.
So yeah, I see you. You still think Labour are fine. Maybe you need to have your own face eaten by a leopard for a bit.
Six votes in it and now Labour is going to tack further to the right and continue to want to lose on culture war shit.
Instead of any introspection about why being Red Tories doesn’t get the vote out for them. #ukpol
Phasing out fossil fuels isn't "doomed to fail" it's absolutely guaranteed at some point because fossil fuels are a finite resource, tony blairs, you fucking wonk. Even if fossil fuels didn't cause pollution and climate change, we'd still need to find alternatives because they will run out before we can genetically recreate enough dinosaurs and wait for them to die and get buried under layers and layers of rock to get squished into oil again. #ukpol #ClimateChange

UK: Even the Evening Standard is urging people not to vote Labour in the upcoming elections because of its horrific transphobia, racism, xenophobia and ableism. Labour is already Reform.
