The spinoff from "The Office" has a name, and a premiere date. "The Paper," will star Domhnall Gleeson as the publisher of a historic but struggling newspaper in Toledo, Ohio. Oscar Nuñez will reprise his role as Oscar Martinez from "The Office," and the mockumentary-style show will premiere in September. “It’s a fruitful premise. There’s a tremendous history for local papers. Good news for science-fiction fans (possibly the whole of the fediverse): Ryan Coogler, director of "Fruitvale Station," "Creed," the "Black Panther" movies and most recently, "Sinners," is working on an "X-Files" reboot. This was first reported a couple of years ago; Coogler says he's now spoken to Gillian Anderson. After spending more than $20 billion to produce original TV shows and movies, that are — relatively speaking — barely watched, Apple is pulling back. Bloomberg reports that while many of its shows have charmed critics, they have a smaller share of top 10 hits than any streaming service except Paramount+. Finished "Station Eleven" yesterday - what a wonderful, life-affirming show! No exaggeration to say it is one of most beautiful and thought-provoking works of art I've encountered. Such a breath of fresh air to see an apocalyptic narrative where people come together rather than fight each other. It really captures what is best about humanity. And I think its focus on community makes it an excellent example of #Hopepunk or #Solarpunk. MUST WATCH!
