[Status April 25] Until 6th May: public consultation.
An update of the surveillance law in Switzerland is currently being discussed.
In the proposed text, content and end-to-end encryption are *explicitly* excluded from surveillance.
They want to go after metadata, being able to identify users of the different services and have better real-time capabilities.
We'll see how this evolves and how the final proposal will look like in the coming months.

My mom operates a cat shelter in Switzerland. Charly is a stray kitten that was brought to the shelter, together with his brother and mom. They were waiting to find a new home, when he suddenly developed strange symptoms: balancing issues, head tilting, fever, and an infection in his ear and eye. He is currently being treated and just had a surgery today. His treatment is expensive. And because he is a stray, the bills are paid for by the animal welfare organization the shelter is operating under. (Tierschutzverein Interlaken-Oberhasli)
I have created a GoFundMe page, to hopefully reach some more people. Please consider chiming in and helping to pay for Charly's treatment at the vet.
If you pay taxes in Switzerland, consider donating to the organization directly and ask for a tax receipt (Spendenbescheinigung) via phone or e-mail. The organization is recognized by the federal government and is tax-exempt. You can deduct donations from your taxable income.
I hope that Charly has a swift recovery, and that he will find a new home soon after. He is a very playful and friendly cat.

#Ad: #Selling my school glider #Ozone Jomo (1st generation). It has 158 flights out of which 86 flights were in school (mostly top-to-bottom). Clocked 25h of "air time", including one session of 3h 30min of ground handling.
Always dried properly, folded properly and stored in a bag. No #SAV (#SIKU), no tree landing, no landing into water, no holes on the canopy.
Had to replace the clip for holding the brake in position when parked on the right side (typical issue with this system). The glider has an ad sticker for "Augencentrum Interlaken" over it, so selling it for a nicer price.

People might know that there are countries where it is effectively impossible for Jews to live.
What less people know is that there are countries where Jews are not banned outright, or prevented from getting work permits by law, but are made to pay a "Jew Tax" in the form of preventing Jews from producing kosher meat, requiring them to buy foreign meat that is less available and costs a lot more.
Those countries are Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Slovenia.
These countries have a "Jew Tax" which requires their Jewish citizens to buy food at higher prices.
Canada has now joined these countries.
When I was in school and people would ask "How could people pass laws against Jews?", the answer is this... by starting with making life more difficult for Jews, then like the frog in the pot, turning up the heat.
