#RubyFriends have a #Ruby related 🦆 or 🦆-type, or entirely sans-🦆, something you want to share with other Rubyists? Here's yet another way. It is on Daily dot dev, which I prefer over HN and Reddit for this type of news.

Let's support kids.
By "kids", I of course mean support for Key IDs (kids) in JWT assertions (IETF rfc7515 JSON Web Signature - JWS compliant)
Of course, I also mean #FreePalestine, and #SayNoToGenocide

I have published a simple ActiveModel serializer called Barley. It is very, very fast, easy to use, and it comes with caching and type-checking baked in. Here is a little introduction... #ruby #rails #barley
https://moskitohero.com/an-introduction-to-barley-the-fast-model-serializer/
So, my last post (at the moment of this post) was in Nov 2019, so a new #introduction post might be in order.
Hello everyone! My name is Artemis. I will mostly write about #Programming (incl. #Ruby, #Python, #Clojure, #Elixir, #Golang, #Docker and others), #SciFi, #fantasy with occasional various nerdy postings (#linux/#unix #comicbooks, #lego, #formulae), #lgbtqi stuff or plain nonsense-posting.
Hope you enjoy!
Want to use #encrypted #credentials in a non #Rails project without having to pull ActiveSomething dependencies? Take a look at the new "dry-credentials" for #Ruby. It's not part of the dry organisation but related in spirit. https://github.com/svoop/dry-credentials
Tomorrow is the day! Online Meetup day that is, with CEO & Career Coach Rachel Serwetz! Tuesday, March 25 at 12pm Eastern https://www.wnb-rb.dev/join-us
Peeps! I am working on my first open source ruby gem! Big imposter syndrome, I hope people will be nice. #ruby #rails #rubyonrails
Well #FediHire, I'm on the market again! 25 year #Ruby / #Rails (and more!) powerhouse looking for employment. Reached 3rd highest contributor at my last gig despite 200k+ commits, 15+ years, and hundreds of developers. Have ~100 gems w/ ~2 billion downloads. You know me.
Loves: languages / runtimes, profiling & optimization, debugging, testing, OSS, etc.

Reposting my introduction from the old account:
My name is Kuba (Jakub), I live in Kraków, Poland 🇵🇱🇪🇺 I used to work as a web developer (Rails+JS, before the Node era), then I fell in love with the Mac 🍎 and moved to #iOSDev / #MacDev. I like #Swift, but I also still love using #Ruby.
I mostly work on my own projects now with a goal to become a proper #IndieDev one day. From time to time I write really long blog posts. I'm also a big fan of #Bitcoin (I worked on a Mac wallet app a while ago).
I should probably do an #introduction, really!
I'm Kev 👋. I'm a software engineering manager for a company in Manchester 🐝, UK 🇬🇧 (and admin of mcr.wtf) and I live in Ancoats 🏭 with my wife @Caroline 👩🏫 and our cat 😾!
I'm into #cycling 🚴♂️ #beer 🍺 (of the craft variety), #reading 📖 (check out @kev to see what!) and that sort of normal stuff!
Other relevant hashtags might be: #linux #foss #ruby
#elixir
#tufc
and probably other things I've forgotten!

Hey Fediverse 👋
I am looking for work in the web development space. I can quickly contribute to Python/Django and Ruby/Rails codebases.
I've done on-call support, code review, working with a variety of colleagues etc.
Resume is here https://drive.google.com/file/d/11Tqg6-Bn6_4oFvWta-yrsrtiGXFdQKYI/view and DM if you'd like to discuss further.
Looking for work! Available immediately for iOS/macOS and Ruby on Rails development — contract or full-time.
Former Apple engineer with 15+ years of iOS experience and 4 years in Ruby on Rails. I'm great at both.
Please share! 🙏 #iosdev #swiftdev #macdev #ruby #rubyonrails
Welcome Twitter migrants! I guess it's a good time for an #introduction
I've been creating #videogames since 1994 on all conceivable platforms. These days, I am a consulting CTO for a fintech startup, as well as part of a tiny indie game studio.
I mostly work with #elixir #phoenixframework #ruby #rails #unity #csharp and have a passion for #functionalprogramming #fp.
Currently writing a book on building a scalable multiplayer game server with Elixir.
Rubyists, if you're testing Ruby 3.4, please update to sqlite3 v2.5.0.rc1 which packages Ruby 3.4 in the native gems.
https://github.com/sparklemotion/sqlite3-ruby/releases/tag/v2.5.0.rc1
Let me know if you have problems!
Pro tip: Make your #Ruby question mark methods even more questionable!
```
def really?(_)
true # or false idc
end
really???
# => true
```
I like the idea of types in Ruby. Raku is supports that already, but in Ruby, you must specify the types in a separate .rbs file, which is, in my opinion, cumbersome and is a reason not to use it extensively for now. I believe there are efforts to embed the type information in the standard .rb files, and that the .rbs is just an experiment to see how types could work out without introducing changes into the core Ruby language itself right now? #Ruby #RakuLang https://github.com/ruby/rbs
So predictable. Like clockwork.
Fellow #Ruby friends, are you finally ready to take a public stand against this man?
#introduction I'm a software engineer that moved into leadership roles when I got tired of fighting w/ broken builds. I used to be involved in various tech communities (#scala, #dorkbot, #ruby, #oss, etc.), but keep a low profile of late. I also used to play music (mostly #punk & #postpunk) quite a bit, though these days it's just a hobby. I occasionally tinker with a lot of things, read, and enjoy watching TV/movies with my lovely wife @holyspacemonkey.
I am actively looking for employment. Preferably Senior Software Engineer involving Ruby, US based Remote. I can also do all of the other usual "boring" languages, such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc, but prefer Ruby (Crystal is also cool). Not really a fan of Go, Rust, or React.

Hello! I'm a #ruby contractor working remotely from Edinburgh 🏰 I don't seem to have a lot of spare time these days, but when I get some I'm usually playing #guitar, walking the #dog (Rolo), or working on side projects like https://www.rolosmoneybox.com 👋 👯
Hi there! I figure it's as good a time as any for an #introduction.
My name's Christopher. I'm a software developer (mostly #ruby and #rails for the past 10 years or so). I also enjoy:
- Games (of all sorts, but especially #boardgames and #videogames)
- Designing/solving #puzzles
- Performing in/watching #theater
- Making/designing games with my wife through our company, How Seven!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hey folks, I was just laid off from my job I'd worked at for 5 years.
I'm hurt, devastated and most of all scared. But I'm also ready to kick things into gear and bring my talents to another company or team.
I've been a Ruby on Rails dev since 2016 and have loved doing it.
My website is https://afomera.dev
If anyone knows of any opportunities I'd love to hear them, please repost or share with folks you know! Thank you.

Sometimes people follow me to hear about Ruby performance. Relevant to that:
@nateberkopec is available for work again starting in August -- sounds like he's fixed most of what Gusto needs to fix for awhile 😃
You're probably on his Slack and can find him there. But if not, DMing him here should work well too.
He does audits and tune-ups on Rails apps, training, workshops, and long-term retainer performance work. He *could* be doing it for you.
