My little tech worker coop is working with #Piikup an #Oakland based delivery and logistics organization that provides door-to-door grocery, meal, and catering delivery services for a number of local restaurants and caterers.
Piikup is working towards a just transition from the #DoorDash, #EZCater, #TryCaviar, or #UberEats all of which aggressively squeeze food service and delivery workers.
If we can get 10 people ordering a plate once a month, that will help us work out the logistical and technological kinks. If you can afford to drop $15~$25/plate once a month on a delicious, healthy meal delivered to your door by workers who care about quality and community; please email hello@zinc.coop with your city and neighborhood and we'll let you know when we're ready to run our real test!

First design safe narrower streets, then choose fire trucks which work on those streets.
Current fire code encourages wider streets, which lead to speeding, which leads to fatalities and injuries.

Local #SFBayArea folks! Ok, I’m downsizing, which means acknowledging I won’t be completing some past projects. Like making my own #telescope. 🔭 Which means this 8” partially ground mirror blank in excellent condition is up for grabs, along with the grinding plate. You can take it over to the telescope makers workshop at Chabot for instructions, measurements, and help.
