It looks like our local Kill Team play group is attempting to start CritCon - a sweet miniatures wargaming event during the first weekend of October, 2024 in Portland, OR!

Nobody who recognizes them is entirely sure why Taylor the Swift, a bard of such skill that they have their choice of royalty to play to, would leave it all behind to take up an instrument they had never played and busk in the streets, moving from town to town like a common gleetort, but leave they did.

Four views of a Tortle bard busking on a cobblestone street, two pouches of money and some loose coinage already having been tossed at their feet.

The bard's turtle skin is green, brightening at the lips like a turtle's, with a single blue eye exposed, the other covered by their red hat with bright green feathers sticking up from the right side.

The bard wears a bright orange waistcoat, largely concealed by the sculpting, except for the loose tails hanging down the front, and a red sash holds it closed, over which is a turquoise belt, which holds a basket hilted saber, painted in non-metallic steel with golden basket hit.

At wrists and ankles are yellowed brown leather forearm and ankle bracers, worn and held together by large stitches of a completely different color.

The bard's great shell is yellow-orange, with highlights of brilliant yellow, several spikes of jade jutting out from the bottom left, and a bright red crab holding onto the top right as the bard leans forward, playing a squeeze box accordion. Ringing the turtle between their body and shell is a well worn dark blue cloak studded with patches of many colors.

Here are the electronics that go into my 1:10 scale Connection Machine miniatures. One QT Py, four red LED matrices, and four LED driver boards. They're all strung together with I2C cables JST SH plugs and sockets.

Howdy! New instance, new introduction :)

I'm Lauren. By day, I'm a #programmer at a game studio. By night, I like making my own games, usually game jams or similar scale.

Other things I'm likely to toot about include #cats, #tabletop #miniatures, the outdoors, #bikes, and probably #retro #FPS games (I think they're neat).

I'm based out of #Toronto, but am originally from #NewBrunswick, so might toot or boost things related to either. #Ontario #Canada

I also used to be an #astronomer before changing careers / quitting grad school, so if I see cool space posts I'll probably boost them.
