Use e teste diferentes aplicativos para ver o que mais gosta. Já usei vários e recomendo o @moshidon para #android (feito pelo @lucas_na_ursal). O #moshidon, por exemplo, permite interagir com a timeline de várias instâncias. Depois coloco uma recomendação aqui de um app para iOS.
Postou uma imagem, um gif ou um vídeo, coloque o texto alternativo. Isso é bem importante e valorizado por aqui. Eu mesmo só dou boost se tiver texto alternativo. Outra dica importante é descrever sua foto e capa do perfil 
O #mastodon na web também pode ser acessado com interfaces alternativas como: elk.zone e https://phanpy.social. Experimente, o #fediverso é cheio experiências diferentes e proveitosas! Um mundo novo 
Além da #hashtags você também podem seguir interagir com comunidades do Lemmy (Forum ou Reddit daqui) ou de grups. If we focus too much on following people, we mirror the boring influencer-media. Mastodon allows much more openness and inclusivity by letting anyone enter your feed if they talk about a topic you're following. So what are your favorite hashtags?
Mijn tips voor nieuwkomers op Mastodon:
1. Er is geen algoritme, dus mensen volgen is enorm belangrijk om hun berichten te zien.
2. Mensen blijven op Twitter omdat ze daar veel volgers hebben. Ontvolg mensen dus op Twitter als je ze ergens anders volgt.
3. #Hashtags zijn belangrijk. Maak een introductiepost met hashtags wat jou interesseert en je vaak over bericht, zodat mensen ook jou weten te vinden.

Fifteen years ago (fuck, I'm old) I started documenting what Twitter's nascent hashtags could and couldn't do.
Back in 2010, this is how the official Twitter site linked hashtags.
Notably, punctuation symbols didn't "count" as part of a tag.

There is no algorithm here so we encourage lots of following and “retweeting”. You can also follow #hashtags as well.
Posts are sometimes called toots. Retweets are sometimes called boosts or retoots.
If you want people to follow you, be sure to have a profile picture, something in your description about you, and some engagement: posts, comments, stars, boosts. People also usually do a post that is an introduction to them (be sure to use a hashtag, #introduction) and it can help to pin that to your profile so people can boost it.

2. https://fedifinder.glitch.me/ finds #Twitter people you followed, on Mastodon! You can bulk-follow them.
3. Follow many people, from many different instances, to feed both your personal as well as your instance's federated timeline. It's easy to un-follow later. Use boost often.
4. Use #hashtags! There is no algorithm selecting "top posts" for you; instead, trends are built on hashtags.
Feeling old because I remember #hashtags started life as channel names on IRC.

Wenn ihr erlaubt, würde ich mal kurz erzählen, was mir vor einigen Jahren den Einstieg um einiges erleichtert hat. 😉
Eine ausgefüllte Bio in eurem Profil erleichtert die Suche nach interessante Kontakte ungemein. Wenn ihr euch in eurem Profil kurz beschreibt und dieses auch mit euren Interessen füllt, dann wissen andere #Fedinauten gleich wer ihr seid und folgen euch schneller.
Es ist ebenfalls von Vorteil einen kurzen #neuhier Beitrag zu erstellen, in dem ihr euch und eure Interessen vorstellt. Das erhöht eure Sichtbarkeit und andere User können euch wegen der vorgestellten Interessen schneller finden.
Die Nutzung von #Hashtags erleichtert das Leben in der Fediverse ungemein. Wenn ihr diese in eure Beiträge nutzt, werden diese Beiträge von anderen Fedinauten leichter gefunden, die gleichen Interessen- oder Themenschwerpunkte haben. Ebenfalls kann man nach Hashtags suchen und diese speichern. Die so gespeicherten Hashtags füllen dann sehr schnell eure Timeline mit interessanten Beiträgen.[/list]Ich hatte damals bei meinem Start echt Schwierigkeiten zu verstehen, was dieses Fediverse genau ist. Viele von euch, wenn nicht sogar die meisten, werden sich ein Konto bei Mastodon erstellt haben. Sehr schön!
Allerdings ist #Mastodon nicht das Fediverse, es ist ein Teil davon. Die Fediverse besteht aus ganz vielen und unterschiedlichen Diensten. So gibt es neben #Mastodon zum Beispiel auch noch #Friendica (bei dem ich bin), #Misskey, #Pleroma, #Peertube, #Pixelfed und noch viele andere.

Ein wichtiger Punkt ist auch noch die Wahl der Instanz. Egal ob ihr euch für Mastodon, Friendica oder einen anderen Dienst entschieden habt. Es gibt seeeeehr große Instanzen wie chaos.social oder mastodon.social die in der Tat tausende registrierte User haben. Aus Gründen der Performance und der Dezentralität wäre es vielleicht gut sich eine Instanz zu suchen, die nicht so riesig ist. Es gibt sehr viele kleinere Instanzen, deren User sich dort aufgrund der Themenschwerpunkte oder der Nähe zum Wohnort registriert haben.
