Love this new sign on the Clyde Walkway, but it definitely falls into the Keep Glasgow Weird category. It's one of a number of signs inspired by Science Fiction movies around the city's Science Centre created by A Sign of Humour.

This is the Ruthven Lane Cat in the west end of Glasgow. It's high on a wall on the back of an old tenement building, and it really doesn't look like it belongs there. It's a bit of a mystery as to who put it there, and why.

This plaque on Main Street in Milngavie on the outskirts of Glasgow marks the site of George Bennie's remarkable, but experimental, Railplane. Invented in the 1920s, this was a zeppelin-shaped carriage suspended from an overhead track and powered by propellers. The aim was to create a two-tier railway with slower freight trains using the ground level track, while faster passenger railplanes would fly along above them on a higher level track at speeds of up to 120 miles an hour.

The Avon Viaduct near Linlithgow. With over 20 arches and 404 metres in length, this viaduct was built in 1841 as part of Scotland's first intercity railway line connecting Haymarket Station in Edinburgh with Queen Street Station in Glasgow. A series of such viaducts, as well as embankments and tunnels, allowed the creation of an almost flat route between the two cities.
