To kind of thematically fit with @jon's #velocity2025 coverage, here's some highlights of the story of Pomerania's public bike-sharing service, #Mevo:
The wild ride started when Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area (an intercommunal cooperation org) awarded a contract for setting up the system to Nextbike. Together, they promised thousands of bikes, all of them electric, for the insanely low price of 10 PLN/month for 90 minutes a day (or 0.10 PLN/min without a subscription). Additionally, a sort of deposit system operated for leaving bikes outside a station - doing so would cost 3 PLN, while someone taking the bike back to a station would get 2 PLN back in credit: https://www.trojmiasto.pl/wiadomosci/Mevo-oficjalnie-wystartowalo-Test-aplikacji-n132966.html
