#Ansible really triggers my #perfectionism. I'm struggling to release my #playbook because every aspect could be done in "the best way". Anyone relate?
It's quite challenging but i will publish it today even though i'm not quite done yet.

My employer is continuing to pursue increased sales to the US government, so for ethical reasons I'm fully on the job market now.
I am an experienced #devOps engineer, having worked exclusively with #AWS. I have extensive experience in #terraform and #openTofu with significant #Ansible work as well. I've used the full alphabet soup of AWS services: VPC, EC2, S3, ACM, KMS, IAM, RDS, Route53, SNS, SES, SQS, WAF, and many more. I also am familiar with the various monitoring, alerting, and on-call platforms, most notably CloudWatch, DataDog, and Pager Duty. I also have management and project management experience, leading teams and projects at the application and architectural levels.
I do not, unfortunately, have experience with K8s or EKS, so any potential position would need to accept a ramp-up time if those are part of the infrastructure ecosystem. I am a fast learner, and I have a solid engineering expertise to build off of.
My primary need is a fully #remote position for family reasons. As my profile states, I am based in the Twin Cities area in US Central time. I am fully authorized to work in the US without employer support.
I'm happy to answer any other questions folks may have, and I can provide my resume upon request. Thanks in advance for boosts and such!
With all the new Mastodon users, it’s maybe time I wrote my #introduction (a.k.a. #introductions)
I am a father of 2, husband of 1. I live in The Netherlands.
I work as a freelance Database Admin for several companies, using #postgresql #oracle #mysql and many others. I also do some related stuff like #linux #ansible #kubernetes etc.

Edit: Ich habe Kontakt zu 4 wunderbaren Menschen, die mir helfen können. Danke an alle!
Ich suche eine helfende Hand für meine #IT Firma @feinste_netzwerke in #Erkrath #Dusseldorf als #Nebenjob für die Abendstunden. Reintro!
I'm Dylan, a #fullstack #webdev from the Midwest, US. I like working with #js and #svelte so much that I wrote a book about #sveltekit! I've also worked extensively with #php and #WordPress but try to avoid the latter if I can.
I spend my days in the terminals of various #Linux machines and tweaking my #Vim config. I automate my #homelab with #ansible. I write about web dev on my #blog.
I enjoy #pcgaming and will occasionally #shitpost and boost #memes so brace yourself.
I should actually re-post and pin this #introduction since my move from mastodon.social:
Hi, I’m Andy, a #devops techie from the UK with a particular obsession with over engineering my home network setup. I operate dimension.sh (a tilde/pubnix), I’m also a Disney parks fan, Texans fan, and when I get a spare moment I enjoy a bit of wood working.

Hi! I’m Alex.
I’m from Indiana and I work in enterprise networking, security and automation.
Despite having had this account for several years, @krusynth reminded me through his post that I never actually did an #introduction for myself. So howdy, I'm Noah. I'm a dad, a #devops engineer recently turned manager, and a run-of-the-mill late forties geek. Work weapons of choice are primarily of the #ansible and #terraform variety. Once upon a time when I had free time I played D&D whenever possible. I've kept every console gaming system I've ever owned, going back to my Atari 2600.
Today I spend several hours watching #ansible playbooks deploying a system - iteratively fixing issues. It takes ages, even when using --start-at-task. And in the end it can't be reproduced in just a few days due to downloaded lxc-containers.
I'd really, really like to use #guix deploy instead, which builds the config-files and pops up a new system - instead of execution command after command. Anyhow I eagerly missing some handling for secrets like #debops provides.
Any ideas?
Hello world! Been lurking a few days, time for an #introduction I guess.
Been in infosec for almost 14 years now (wow time flies!). Went the military way - studied computer engineering, then ended up in a infosec type junior leadership position straight out of uni.
Worked with some great people and had some awesome opportunities. Worked in forensics and building up training programs. But it was here where I largely realized I didn't want to play the promotion/leadership game. I like doing technical work more than people management work.
I worked in mil/government for a few more years, did some SIEM engineering work and then packet and malware analysis.
Now in the private sector but in a largely infra/operations role, working on automating all the things. Lots of work with #ansible, #python, #postgresql.
I think this toot is probably more text then I ever wrote on the birdsite over many years.
New instance, new #introduction !
Hello again! I'm Jim, a #SystemsEngineer for a #software company outside #Boston . I work mostly with #ansible , #VMware , #Windows , #SUSE #Linux , and write #PowerShell and #JavaScript .
Despite all that I don't really like computers... I'd rather be #outdoors #camping or #hiking especially in #NewHampshire or #Maine , shooting #FilmPhotography or doing #crochet watching #FoodNetwork .
Super #gay , have a #platonic domestic partner... boys he's single!
New #blog post! I was having performance troubles with my #HomeLab #backup, when I realized I needed to stagger my cron jobs across the hosts!

In our second #RedHatSummit #FocusOnLinux special we had the honor talking to various experts. Craig gave us insights on Red Hat #Ansible Automation Platform 2.5 and Lightspeed. We had fun with @itguyeric on RHEL Lightspeed. @mattdm shared recent #Fedora development (and his favorite niche desktops) with us. Stef helped us getting into #RHEL Image Mode. Lastly, @cybette shared her experience on crafting communities with us - it was real fun! 🫶🏻

I will do a quick #introduction...
Mainly a tech geek that is currently focused on tech such as #kubernetes #terraform #ansible and general #cicd technologies.
Love my #homelab, but would like to get into more of a minimal power homelab. Using #rancher with RKE2 and EKS (kubernetes) that is mostly automated. I also dabble in #vmware and #mikrotik, but previous backgrounds are in many #middleware technologies.
Excited to learn more about #fediverse as I go.
Messed around and made an #Ansible task to compile and install the #Transmission 4.0 beta on #CentOS 7
New #blog post! Now I demonstrate how you can run your #Ansible playbooks to read your #Vaultwarden (or #Bitwarden) secrets from inside an Execution Environment using Ansible Navigator. Basically you're doing what Ansible Automation Platform does, but with a lot less infrastructure. It's pretty fun!

New #blog post! As I have promised multiple times, I'm demonstrating how you can use #Ansible to read passwords (and other secrets) from #Vaultwarden (and #Bitwarden as well). I hope this gives you fuel to #SelfHosted your secrets in your #HomeLab. Happy automating!

Wanted to share a recent project of mine from past few weeks to turn my #nanopi r5s #sbc into a really potent pure debian Linux router that was sane to manage.
I was able to successfully switch over this weekend and retire my edgerouter-6p.
The formula is basically #ansible #systemd stuff #netplan #dnsmasq #frrouting and #foomuuri -- the lynchpin solution for sanely doing robust zone-to-zone firewalls using #nftables
Repo linked below has more details:
