I find it pretty sad that a lot of people won't consider reading a fantasy novel unless there's some sort of big budget TV or film series attached to it.
@anon_opin the best fantasy gets remade is why. Plenty of it is pulp material and derivative, designed to be a series to shamelessly cash in on tv series material at the moment too
