This blew my mind.
'John Harvey Kellogg, the inventor of corn flakes, believed that corn flakes could help prevent masturbation.
Kellogg was a physician, nutritionist, and medical missionary who was a leader in the Progressive Era. He was also a Seventh-day Adventist who believed that sex, alcohol, tobacco, and rich foods were unhealthy and caused disease.
Kellogg believed that masturbation was harmful and caused mental and physical issues. He believed that a bland diet and high-fiber foods could eliminate feelings of arousal.
He marketed corn flakes as a "healthy, ready-to-eat anti-masturbatory morning meal".'
