@benroyce I'm a former Nebraskan who's followed this closely since last year's session. Please don't chalk this up to one heroic speech by one heroic guy -- if we're talking to the idealists, let's talk about how this was a team effort with years of work behind it, like most legislative victories.
Fredrickson's a tremendous trans ally, but he's worked on this in lockstep with senators like Machaela Cavanaugh and Megan Hunt -- who shut down the legislature for much of last year's session trying to stop Kauth's previous hate bill, and they nearly succeeded!
