losing my *mind* that the only tutorial videos that actually adress the issues I have faced building with EVA foam are the now ten (10) year old videos by a guy who used the original foam patterns every second cosplay youtuber uses (JFcustom on theRPF and Cullen Cosplay on youtube)

where is the community that could have sprung up from this.
Instead we have influencers who show you montages of gluing together patterns for ten minutes without telling you about any difficult aspects.
we are losing this knowledge.
and to be clear, when I say "we are losing this knowledge" I don't just mean this small terminology issue. It's everything.
It goes from institutional knowledge being lost with cinema giants like Industrial Light&Magic shutting down to the Stan Winston School putting theirs behind a paywall too high for amateurs to youtubers linking specialized cosplay shops that sell "cosplay foam" (whatever that is).
It's not just *lost* knowledge.
It's being privatized in real time.
