Last couple of weeks writing my thesis on the roles, strategies and experiences of #scientists engaging with #climage and #nature #policy. Its been epic and I'm looking forward to submitting and then sleeping...
... but then I also need to find work.
How do I get over the absolute w*nk of big organisation job descriptions and the inevitability of #AI in everything? Just reading these things drains the will to live. How did you find your role?
@PenguinJunk
Absolutely every single job I've had since my first one has been through networking.
Talk to people. Make friends. Remind them you exist. Show off how good you are. Ask them for help directly.
That gets you into the queue (and sometimes to the front) - but you've still got to prove yourself at interview.
(Obvs. My personal anecdotes aren't data. Privileges definitely play a role. Etc.)
