I'm sharing this here because this is something I didn't know about, despite having read quite a bit about menopause.
Despite being post menopausal & on HRT, I still get irregular bleeding. I've seen a GP about it, & asked how often this occurs.
She said: 50% of people who go through menopause will go on to have post menopausal bleeding. Furthermore, in some cases, it may continue for up to 10 years after menopause.
Now, there may be issues that need addressing, so it's important to see a GP. They should at least, refer you to have an ultrasound. They need to make sure there aren't any problems such as endo etc, causing the bleeding.
You should also have a full round of blood tests to include things like Thyroid, B12, Folate, Diabetes, etc, because some of these things can cause bleeding. Almost everything came back as perfect, except for my B12 levels, which my GP described as 'horrifically low'. I'll be getting B12 injections to try and fix this.
There is also the point that there have been literally no research on the impacts ME/CFS has on menopause, so we don't know if that has an impact or not.
