Hello friends.
I'm interested in the Sol eInk Glasses - but they only appear to be available in the USA.
Do you know anyone in the UK with a pair I could try / buy?
THANKS!

I will also accept links to Shenzen rip-offs at half the price - as long as they can ship quickly!
@Edent those look cool. They do ship to the UK, but charge £142 for the pleasure 🤯
If you can't find them here, they may be a bit niche, then the best option may be to have somebody in the US send them over to you.
@Edent I don't understand? The whole point of eInk is to be a surface, illuminated by ambient light and behaving like all the other surfaces around us (as opposed to self-illuminated screens).
If you put it into googles, you lose effectively all the benefits and are left with just the drawbacks (low resolution and refresh rate), no?
One benefit remains, which is conspicuously absent from their advertisement materials: lower power consumption for static screens.
@Edent These look pretty cool to try out for 20 seconds. Let me know how you get on sourcing some in the UK :)
@MyBeansAreBaked
Have you used it, or are you speculating?
@Edent I'm speculating, but I have a decent amount of experience in VR. It's an interesting idea, but I'm skeptical that this would be any more effective than a physical book. What attracted you to this product?
@Edent maybe I'm too quick to judge. Looking at reviews, seems like it basically does what it promises: distraction and hassle free reading.
@MyBeansAreBaked
Yes, that's why I wanted to speak with people who had one, or knew where to get it.
I'm going to have surgery soon and wanted to be able to read while it was happening. My VR headset battery wouldn't last long enough.
@alphasixtyfive
Do you find it strains your eyes when you use it?
@Edent not sure about those but my Quest 2 makes my eyes hurt after 2 hrs of use. It gets especially bad when I try it again after a few months of not using it.
@alphasixtyfive
Sorry, I should have made it clearer I was looking for people with first hand experience.
