High contrast, black and white version of the same photo

Color version. We had a few large trees die a long time ago. They had to be cut down. This is the cross-section of one of the remaining logs. Its grayish, weathered, cracked and hollowed out. There are patches of light green and brown lichen. On the right, a dark tunnel leads to light.
